WANTED - chess books

Post by Catherine Glynn » Tue Jan 04, 2011 5:30 pm

I am a bookseller and one of my specialities is chess books. Some of you on this Forum have already had dealings with me (hopefully in a positive light). I am always looking to buy chess books since I seem to sell a lot faster than I can replace. If you need to lighten your bookshelves or know of a club looking to sell a collection, then please contact me. Many thanks !

No shop, Internet only, on various book sites - the two main ones with links below. However, customers are welcome to drop by, either to collect purchases or have a look at specific titles/categories (with advance notice, please!). I am based in Southampton.

I have just sold a few books to Catherine – and can only praise her professionalism.

She communicated in a prompt and very friendly manner, made swift payment AND arranged a courier to pick up my amateurishly wrapped parcel of books – an absolute joy to deal with

Many thanks to those of you who have contacted me over the past year and sold me chess books, especially those who have done it more than once.

Since the original post, I have moved from Southampton to Norwich (thank you J.C. and Charlie for the advice on Norwich chess clubs). And I still need books !

In addition to chess, I am interested in buying books on other games such as Bridge, Poker and Go. Some of the more enterprising of you have also sold me books on other non-fiction subjects and generally, I am receptive as long as chess books figure somewhere in the equation.

Not to sound ungrateful but please don't offer me volumes of Chess Informants, beginner's guides or books which you have filled with your own inked annotations. I have been inundated with opening books but I am still buying these. Game collections would be lovely but alas, these are the ones you tend to keep.

Feel free to contact me either by PM through the Forum or directly at [email protected] and thanks again to all those who have already done so.
