You probably ought to exclude anyone connected with e2e4 chess or this particular event as e2e4 chess describes itself as "a group of chess players who enjoy running chess events as well as playing in them", not a one-man band.Gareth T Ellis wrote:(UK based forum members only, excluding Sean Hewitt)

As the entries currently list:
Donovan, Nigel P 2032
Donovan, Nigel P 2032
Rahman, K Azizur 1855
Rahman, K Azizur 1855

I don't think inside information would help

Probably a space limit so 200 although I have excused myself from the game.

In case of a tie, the first correct answer received will be the winner, so anyone waiting for the closing updates could leave it too late !

I'd be no more likely to guess right as anyone else. My guess is 173. And my prediction is that I'm wrong!

Entries meaning those who actually turn up and play, rather than anyone who enters and then withdraws?
I'm guessing 174

Is the total number of players that play at least one game acceptable to everyone ?Entries meaning those who actually turn up and play, rather than anyone who enters and then withdraws?

Seems reasonable to me, but explicitly stating that fillers will count (or not) might be advisable.Gareth T Ellis wrote:Is the total number of players that play at least one game acceptable to everyone ?Entries meaning those who actually turn up and play, rather than anyone who enters and then withdraws?

The number of entrants who played at least one game was 159.
Embarrassingly for a statto like me, I miscounted the entries when guessing 173 so you might want to double check my maths (FYI A player in the u1700 had 2 byes but is playing in round 3 onwards so counts, whilst another withdraw before r1, so does not).

I see that one of the U1950 Round 2 pairings was GL Bishop v. RR Goodfellow. I wonder how that one went? (See this if you don't understand the reason for question.)
