In defence of Mr Breckenridge as a player, he did score an impressive 4.5/8 against 2600+ opposition in the first half of the 2014 world blitz championship, and even after a mid-tournament collapse still emerged with a 2500+ performance:

Many thanks Leonard, I think this shows his worth.
I meant to add this. Thomas I will ask Steve next time I speak to him but he isnt the type to lie.

Justin - yeah it was in blitz but cmon a win against a super GM OTB is astounding. This is an astounding opportunity to train under a very strong player!

Market rates and all that.

I have a niche market and what I’m selling isn’t chess knowledge as such. It’s certainly not chess ability. Nevertheless I do charge - and gmore to the point get paid - more than this alleged God’s Gift to Chess bloke. I do go to my students’ houses, mind.

The subject of the thread may be a great chess teacher for all I know, but of course being great at bullet and blitz is no evidence for this at all.

If anybody’s happy paying up on this basis I wish them well.

Like I said, market rates ....

A few people have taken Steve up on the offer and places are low...

here is the video of him beating Nakamura in blitz which is an incredible achievement to my mind!

Thomas Rendle wrote:When was he #1 for blitz on Chess.com? I've looked at his profile and stats and he seems a strong blitz/bullet player, especially for an FM, but is still ranked about 150th-200th for blitz and bullet on the site...

Thas because he hardly plays on chess.com now . He beat Van Wely OTB in blitz so obviously he is VERY VERY strong.

It says here he was number 1 https://www.twitch.tv/fm_justicebot under info, ill ask him for more infor next time we speak....
