That at least in part is down to FIDE intransigence in not allowing pairings to be changed or repairings to avoid defaults.

I believe some players are upset by the discovery that they are not playing the opponent they expected.

They did change the round 7 pairings when I contacted them to say that Dominguez was in the draw but at least then it was a matter of minutes.

Even then, as an organiser I have found there is always one player who manages to see the original pairings but not the revised ones.
