Perhaps Qf2, when the Rh5 is starting to look embarassed and the Q can come to d4.

28 Be5 from Gelfand, threatening the c7 pawn.
Will Grischuk sac the exchange to get White's Black-squared B off the board?
28 ...c5
No! He's holding on to his extra pawn. Death or Glory...

Common Grischuk! Some sort of Swindle. I don't know why I am cheering against the Israeli I think I just want Grischuk to win so he can try and hack Anand

Shipov says 28 Qe1! for Gelfand (instead of 28 Be5) was a convincing win.
Gelfand is having a serious think here, considering he is down to 12 min. Did he not consider 28...c5? Was he thinking Black would have to sac the exchange on e5?
It appears both players are going to train for a blitz play-off by a mighty time scramble. 11 min to Gelfand and ticking down. 4 min 23 to Grischuk
29 dc: f6
30 Ba1 Rc5

To say Grischuk's position is hanging by a thread would be an understatement.

The Indian 20-20 has just been compared to a game of chess. Given one team is 15-3 one could compare their plight to Grischuk's

31 Rc5: bc:
32 Qb5
I'm guessing if 32 ..Qc7 33. Bc3
32 ...Qc7
7 min for Gelfand, 2 min for Grischuk
33 Rb3:
Wrong again, Austin.
After 33 ...Nb3: 34 Qb3: presumably 34 ..Qc6: would be met by 35 e5
33... Nc6:
so Grishuk is a piece down. Surely he's busted?

32...Ba2 33.Rb2 Qc7 gave black some hope (though 34.e5 is still very good for white). But 32...Qc7? 33.Rxb3 Nxc6 34.e5 played and Grischuk's resignation surely follows very soon

Aaaand.... Grischuk has resigned!!
Score one for the (relatively) old geezers.
For completeness, final moves were:
34 e5 Nd4
35 Qc4+
1-0
Shipov concurs with Peter R that 32...Ba2 was the last serious swindling chance.

Re: Candidates Matches 3rd - 27th May 2011
So..... Anand vs Gelfand.
Both over-40 players.
Neither representing a "former USSR" nation (though of course Boris is from Belarus).
I wonder if having two NON-former-USSR-country representatives contesting the World Championship will give the match some extra profile beyond the normal chess circles?
