Congratulations to Nigel Short who finished a point clear with 8/9 and a performance of just under 2700. Grandmasters Sergei Tiviakov (who plays for Pride & Prejudice in the 4NCL) and Antonio Fernandes finished on 7 whilst Grandmaster Luis Galego from Portugal, who will play at the 2nd Big Slick International, finished on 5.

The format was a 64 player knockout but with the last eight playing off to determine places one to eight. Paul Dargan qualified for the final with FM Khouri Ibrahim Mohamed and drew the first game before losing in the play-off. His overall performance was 2459 and he gained 20 rating points. Thanks to Paul for notifying me of the final result. Nick De Peyer also played but lost in the last 16 to the second seed.
