Congratulations to David Howell who had a 2689 performance and finished 2nd= with GM Predrag Nikolic on 7/9 half a point behind GM Sergey Tiviakov. Keith Richardson scored 5, Julian Farrand 4.5 and Ray Edwards 4.

Congratulations to Adam Hunt who finished 1st= on 7/9 with a rating performance of 2523. Stephen Gordon scored 6.5 and Maxim Devereaux 6.

English Grandmaster Peter Wells won the tournament with 7.5/9, ahead of GM Keith Arkell with 7 (the third year in a row he’s finished outright second with 7/9!) and 3rd place was shared between David Eggleston, James Cobb, Hjorvar Gretarsson and Bulgarian GMs Marijan Petrov and Julian Radulski.
Other notable English performances were Joseph McPhillips scoring 6 and Martin Brown 5.5 including a win against grandmaster Marijan Petrov rated 2534 in round 1.

Congratulations to thirteen-year-old Isaac Sanders who had a great tournament with a 2288 performance which could have been even better had he converted a very promising position in round 7.
Stewart Haslinger also played in Group A and scored 6/9 whilst Ravi Haria, Kevin White and Graham Burton all scored 3.
Mike Haslinger scored 6.5 in Group C to finish 3rd= just half a point behind the two winners.

Not a name I'm familiar with, but he would appear to be a French resident junior with a valid French License to Play. Quite why the ECF believes it can instruct FIDE to remove his rating history is entirely another question. He's not on the ECF grading list even as an inactive player.

Since it was the Condom Open perhaps the ECF considers it to be Safe (s)ex traction from the list.

Sorry that's bad even by my standards.
