I see that Sulskis (2577) has replaced Kevin Spraggett... 5th seed is 250 points below 4th seed, then the slope becomes more gentle!

For anyone interested in chess playing rather than chess politics, Matthew Sadler (TPR 2856 at the moment) is a point clear in Oslo after 6 of 9 rounds and you can play through his games here:
http://www.chess.co.uk/twic/chessnews/e ... ional-2011
He has white against top seed Tiviakov today (I think game starts at 16:30)

Can anyone explain why Matthew didn't play 26 Bb5 hitting the e8 rook and threatening mate on h7?Mick Norris wrote:For anyone interested in chess playing rather than chess politics, Matthew Sadler (TPR 2856 at the moment) is a point clear in Oslo after 6 of 9 rounds and you can play through his games here:

Re: International Round Up 4/10/11
Pity, although before they played a draw looked a decent result
Matthew is half a point clear of IM Frode Elness, who he presumably meets with black tomorrow, and a point clear of GMs Ernst (who he has already beaten), and Tiviakov and Burmakin (who presumably play each other tomorrow)

I can't help thinking there may have been a transmission error, either that or there was a good reason that he didn't play the move.Mick Norris wrote:Pity, although before they played a draw looked a decent result

I assume Bb5 Re4 Nxe4 Qf5 Bd3 c4 or Re1 d5 is messy. Sadler must have thought Bc4 was better.

If we could get Sadler and McShane in the Euro or Olympic team we'd have a REALLY good squad... hope that happens one day.
