Michael Adams, Nigel Short and Gawain Jones finished equal first on 5/6 with their individual games all ending in hard fought draws. A subsequent play-off for the title between Michael and Nigel (but not Gawain) ended in a 1.5-0.5 victory for Michael. Other leading English scores as follows: Keith Arkell 4.5, Simon Ansell & Malcolm Pein 4, Mark Hebden, Simon Williams, Lawrence Trent & Thomas Rendle 3.5, Lawrence Cooper & Natasha Regan 3. There were ten grandmasters and also ten international masters amongst the forty-four players.

Michael Adams also won the blitz tournament, beating Mark Hebden in the final. Despite the event having no prize money six grandmasters and five international masters took part.

In the Masters Nicolas Croad of New Zealand took first place with 6.5/9 and another IM norm to add to the one he achieved at the 2011 Big Slick International. Peter Sowray scored 6 performing at 2412 and missing a norm by half a point, Jack Rudd & Michael White scored 5.5, Andrew Bigg scored 5, Alex Longson 3.5 and Robert Willmoth 3.
