Congratulations to Gawain Jones who qualified for the World Cup (being held in Tromso, Norway from 10th August to 5th September 2013) with a rating performance of 2760 and a score of 7.5/11 to finish in fifteenth place out of three hundred and forty eight players. He was sixtieth seed and gained nineteen rating points.

David Howell won his last three rounds to finish with 7/11, Adam Hunt scored 5 and Andrew Ledger finished on 4.5.

Michael Yeo [scored] 8/9.
This was a tremendous result by Michael - the best individual score in the entire event. The second best, 7½/9, was obtained by a certain Victor Korchnoi.
