Baden Baden retained their title despite a surprise 4-4 draw with SC Eppingen in round 14 which included a defeat for Viswanathan Anand against Sergei Tiviakov. Mickey Adams finished with two draws and scored 5.5/9 overall performing at 2662.
Werder Bremen finished in second place with Luke McShane scoring 1.5/2 and 7.5/10 overall against an average of 2597 for a 2786 performance.
SG Trier finished in sixth place, David Howell scored 1.5/2 and 5/10 finishing with a rating performance of 2635, Stephen Gordon had two draws to finish with 7/12 and a 2545 performance whilst Stewart Haslinger scored 2.5/4 and had a 2531 performance.
Gawain Jones scored 5/11 with a 2540 performance, finishing with two draws, as his team SC Remagen were relegated after finishing in last but one place.

Nigel Short is on 5.5/6, Tristan Cox 3, Peter Darby 2, Martin Greenwood 1.5 & Mark McCready in the open. In the first round Tristan Cox (rated 2096) drew with Vietnamese IM Nguyen Van Huy rated 2485.

In the Challengers Mark Ruston and Stephen Curry are on 3.0/4, Laurence Parrott 2.5, David Gates and David Mcgladdery 2.

Richard Jones and Tim Kett shared first with 5.5/7 while Suzy Blackburn won the women‘s title. U21 Welsh Champions were Ashley Davis and Alex Bullen. The two English players, David Sands and EM White, scored 4.5 and 2.5 respectively.

Ian Thompson won the Tom Weston Memorial Open/Major Championship with 6.5/7 ahead of Gareth Harley-Yeo 5.5 (Trophy winner as highest place Welsh player )
whilst third place was shared between 3rd Nicholas Evans, Paul Bridges, Walter Braun, David Buttell, Szilvia Lochte, Vaness Reid, Joe Turner. Nicholas Evans won the grading prize.

Nigel Short won the open with 8/9 performing at 2768 which should ensure he is over 2700 on the May rating list.

Tristan Cox scored 5/9 with a performance of 2337 gaining forty rating points, including a draw with Vietnamese IM Nguyen Van Huy rated 2485 and a win against GM Wong Meng Kong.

Peter Darby scored 4, Martin Greenwood 2 & Mark McCready 0.

In the Challengers David Gates scored 5/7, Mark Ruston and Stephen Curry 4.5, Laurence Parrott 3.5 and David Mcgladdery 2.
