Player wanted for BDO Tournament Haarlem Aug 25th - Sept 2nd

Dear chessfriend,

The “Stichting HWP Schaakactiviteiten” and “Schaakvereniging HWP Haarlem” will organise the BDO Chess Tournament in Haarlem (the Netherlands).

We will organise the Challenger Tournament, a round robin tournament with ten players, reaching an average FIDE Elo close to 2330. An IM-norm is scored with 6 out of 9. We would like to invite you to play in this Challenger. If the tournament is played in 2013, the winner of the BDO Challenger 2012 will be invited for the Premier tournament in 2013.

The BDO tournament will take place from August 25 till September 2 2012. The playing venue is the Chess centre at the Spaarndamseweg 416, a 20 minute walk from the train station in Haarlem. The opening is on Friday August 24.

To make your participation possible we can offer you accommodation in an apartment nearby. Costs €200,- from Friday 24th till Sunday September 2nd.

Beverages and snacks in the playing hall are free. And obviously you don’t have to pay for the entry in this tournament..

Play will begin at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, except the last round, when play will start at 11 o’clock and directly after finishing the games the prize distribution will take place.

The prize fund in the Challenger: 1st: € 300,- 2nd: € 200,- 3rd: € 100,- 4th: € 75,- 5th: € 50,-.

The tournament is played from Saturday August 25 till September 2nd. We are looking for a player with minimum 2250 FIDE Elo, a title is not required.
