An Evening Talk by Tom Rendle on the World Championship

A Talk by International Master TOM RENDLE
at West London Chess Club Chiswick London W4

I am pleased to announce that IM Tom Rendle will be presenting a talk on the World Championship match between the current world chess champion Viswanathan Anand and the challenger Magnus Carlsen.

The match takes place from 6 to 26 November 2013 in Chennai India so a few games will already have been played by the 13th so hopefully the talk will be just when the match is warming up.

Wednesday 13th November The start time is 7:30PM.

In you are interested in taking part then the ticket prices are:

· Members : free
· Non Members £12.50
· Juniors £6.50
· Anyone joining the club on the evening - free entrance + one years membership £40.

Bob,

This looks like a great event, congratulations to WLCC!

I teach chess in a couple of schools in Chiswick. If a group from one of those schools wanted to come along could something better be worked on than £6.50 per child? I can't promise anything until I speak to the schools concerned, but there might be some interest. PM me if you like, or email or phone me.

At least with today's game there should be some action to discuss - I'm hoping for more of the same tomorrow, or better yet a decisive result. In the meantime let's speculate - could Carlsen be aiming to become the 1st World Champion to make little or no use of the White pieces? :shock:
