A Talk by International Master TOM RENDLE

I am pleased to announce that IM Tom Rendle will be presenting a talk on the World Championship match between the current world chess champion Viswanathan Anand and the challenger Magnus Carlsen.
The match takes place from 6 to 26 November 2013 in Chennai India so a few games will already have been played by the 13th so hopefully the talk will be just when the match is warming up.
Wednesday 13th November The start time is 7:30PM.
In you are interested in taking part then the ticket prices are:
· Members : free
· Non Members £12.50
· Juniors £6.50
· Anyone joining the club on the evening - free entrance + one years membership £40.

This looks like a great event, congratulations to WLCC!
I teach chess in a couple of schools in Chiswick. If a group from one of those schools wanted to come along could something better be worked on than £6.50 per child? At least with today's game there should be some action to discuss - I'm hoping for more of the same tomorrow, or better yet a decisive result. In the meantime let's speculate - could Carlsen be aiming to become the 1st World Champion to make little or no use of the White pieces?
