Yes, have been trying to make the screen capture display smaller, but not worked yet.

Magnus doesn't seem to be making much progress.

I reckon they will all agree a draw in the next few minutes or so.

It would be an appropriate end to an utterly forgettable event where even the sole winner did not play particularly well and needed the swing of a full point in one game.

Well, things have livened up again, but more in the sense that Kramnik is now losing (if Grischuk can get through his time trouble) and Karjakin is now winning against Caruana. Both games involving a pawn pushed too far and (in Kramnik's case) too soon. Computer says that swapping pawns on the kingside before pushing that central pawn to d7 would have given Kramnik a slight advantage (move 31).

One of my worst predictions ever! Those three games continued for another two hours and all three were decisive. Congratulations to Karjakin on defending the title he won last year, and with the same score. Carlsen second again. Agdestein last, but he did better than Hammer last year.

Hideous collapse by VK - maybe he should avoid playing in the same tournaments as Topalov for a while?

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy the tournament. I found it utterly absorbing.

On the day that you made the first post from which I've quoted above, I was unable to drag myself away from the screen. The urgent paperwork which I should have done didn't get tackled until the following day (which was a rest day, fortunately).

I hope that you find this week's World Rapidplay and Blitz Championships more to your liking.

The World Rapidplay is very entertaining. Looks like Magnus may win it, despite losing to Anand.

He was lucky! Never beat a well man etc etc. Oh and you forgot he is number one rated player too.

No end to his luck and these coincidences.

Enjoyed this game from the Blitz. Thought Nakamura's first 20 moves should have been accompanied by the theme music from Jaws.
