Some interesting games for sure but you can't help but feel that the players need a longer break than what they had. I went to see them play in Baku, they looked pretty tired by the end of the tournament.

It isn't what you would ideally have for a qualifier for the Candidates, and does seem to penalise the 8 players who had to play Baku as wellMJMcCready wrote:Some interesting games for sure but you can't help but feel that the players need a longer break than what they had. Gelfand in particular looked very tired but then he was the patriarch.

Re: FIDE Grand Prix 2014-2015
Andreikin won (an interesting final position where he might have had to play out R+2N versus R) and takes the sole lead. Andreikin seems a very solid player, and when he gets more wins he starts to win tournaments.Christopher Kreuzer wrote:Jobava won in round 8 to tie for the lead. I gather that Kramnik will defend his World Cup title in Baku September 10–October 4 and, surprisingly to me, Aronian intends to play too
