Some interesting games for sure but you can't help but feel that the players need a longer break than what they had. I went to see them play in Baku, they looked pretty tired by the end of the tournament.

It isn't what you would ideally have for a qualifier for the Candidates, and does seem to penalise the 8 players who had to play Baku as well

Jobava won in round 8 to tie for the lead. He and Andreikin play on Friday (tomorrow). Jobava has White.
Nakamura is the other player tied for the lead on +2 (5/8).

Andreikin won (an interesting final position where he might have had to play out R+2N versus R) and takes the sole lead. Andreikin seems a very solid player, and when he gets more wins he starts to win tournaments.

Caruana and Karjakin won today to finish on 6 with MVL and Jobava

Nakamura & Mamedyarov joint second with 6.5

Andreikin wins with 7 impressive performance

I gather that Kramnik will defend his World Cup title in Baku September 10–October 4 and, surprisingly to me, Aronian intends to play too

2016 Candidates regulations
have 2 spots by rating being the average of the 12 monthly lists during 2015
