Aronian's (relative) slump has been going on for a bit now.
Women problems have been rumoured (as with Carlsen at this tournament, come to that)

I wish I were so good that my terrible results were GM norms.

Can I veer slightly off topic and ask what people thought of the commentary?
Personally I find Jan Gustafsson excellent. At first I found him a bit unsmiling, but now I realise his frigid exterior belies a rich vein of irony. And he is nothing if not demanding - few concessions are made to the patzer. Fine colloquial English also; I don't know if he has spent time in America?
If I have a criticism, it is perhaps that the weaker player could be borne more in mind. Yasser Seirawan and Nigel Short always do this. I found myself getting left behind when the players were analysing tactics in their games.
The finest commentator? Yasser I think. Laurence Trent is good but a bit excitable. Yasser tends to get the balance right between great chess content and light anecdote. As for Jan, he is nothing if not serious; and I learnt a lot from him. It would be nice to hear Kasparov do a stint!
