Hi Stewart.

Would it be possible to give more details on the other events listed at the bottom of the main page. At the moment, it looks like the other events are there as an afterthought.

I believe there's an U2000 event, which is the one I'm specifically interested in. Could you put up some info on prizes, schedule etc?

Dear Tim,
Fuller details of the Masters and Seniors are given on http://www.colincrouchccc.co.uk as at the start of the thread.

I am unclear whether you are eligible. I have forgotten. Were you born in England and lived here for many years? If so, that makes you eligible and I can reword the details to make that possible. Of course you re fully eligible for the British Seniors as that is open to Irish players.

Niall Doran, I have renamed the Major, in which you expressed interest as the Intermediate. Only following your query did I realise I had two tournaments, both called Major.

25 entries so far, at least 17 of whom are either already qualified or ineligible for the British Championship. Could be a record low score qualification for it. :D

The British Championships website appears commendably up to date with details of qualifiers.

http://www.britishchesschampionships.co ... 16/#events

But what happened to the Tradewise Gibraltar Open? Is there a rule which says that no qualification places are available if there are only a small proportion of players eligible?

I have tried to access the link http://www.colincrouchccc.co.uk today both through the ECF calendar and through this thread to check for an updated list of entrants but my security software keeps blocking me saying its a known dangerous site. The Norton system I have also tells me why and lists the problem or threat as "Annoyance Factor". Thought this was unusual as such things as Phishing and Trojans etc I'm familiar with. Under the heading it further details the Annoyance Factor as "Items that do not necessarily do harm but are a nuisance, such as joke programs or a site that isn't what it seems".

Anyway thought I'd flag it up just in case anyone else has had the same issue.

Odd that. I just tried http://colincrouchccc.co.uk/ and had no such problem. I sometimes have that message come up when trying for aol and have wondered whether it is, in itself, a nuisance factor. So I always ignore it.
But currently Tony Corfe, the entry fee acceptor is in Zambia and the list won't be updated until after 9 March.

Sadly Sheila Jackson has had to withdraw. Miguel Santos Ruiz ESP FM 2416, James Moreby ENG 2005, Sasha Brozel 1808 have entered which I know because they have communicated directly withe me.

I have encountered the same problem. My anti-virus programme also describes the Colin Crouch website as a known dangerous site.

There would appear to be a problem on the Colin Crouch tournament website.

I hope it can be rectified when Tony Corfe returns from Northern Rhodesia.

Do you have ad-blocking enabled? Often it is an ad causing the problem and enabling ad-blocking gets rid of the problem.
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.
