I don't think that we've ever had all six available at the same time but, as you say, it could be an interesting decision if it ever needs to be made.

He must really have impressed the selection committee with his performance in Tromso. Perhaps being a political ally of the International Director helps.

What reason could possibly be there to suggest that he should/would not be selected otherwise?
Considering rating and experience he seems an obvious choice.

If the top six are all available then there would be a decision to be made but to suggest that Nigel (or anyone else) would be selected based on anything other than being considered the best player for the team is insulting to both Nigel and Malcolm.

He may be the first to announce it publicly but that's not the same thing. Whilst it would be better to wait for the official announcement it could be that four players have confirmed and the fifth is taking a little longer.
