Have you found a written source that that rule doesn't apply? I can't find anything on the website.Richard Bates wrote:Anyone watching? Kasparov thankful for the absence of the touch move rule against Nakamura:)

There appears to be an answer from Emil Sutovsky on Facebook:
"Well, Hikaru just told me - he just didn't know how to react. And of course, touch-move is touch-move there."
So it wasn't clock move...

Re: Kasparov blitz challenge
There have been some commenting noting the irony of the identity of Kasparov's opponent...
Clock move was even removed from the USCF Blitz rules in 2013, so even if USCF rules were being used, it wasn't allowed.

Re: Kasparov blitz challenge
I've only seen So 1-0 Kasparov in round 4.
I was thinking Black might play 25... a5!? (Just like Karpov used to play with white v. the Benko Gambit.)
Instead the blunder 25... Nc3?? was perpetrated.
Edit: The position I was talking about -

After that Kasparov loss in R4: 1-2.Kasparov & So 2/4, 3-4. Caruana & Nakamura 1.5/3
In R4 Caruana-Nakamura was going much better for white on the old swingometer but I missed the result.

Re: Kasparov blitz challenge
So after the piece is released it must stay where it is in blitz? Did Kasparov bend the rules? Just watching the commentary but its seems as though the commentators aren't sure themselves.Alex Holowczak wrote:There appears to be an answer from Emil Sutovsky on Facebook:

Love the commentary and the occasion references to 'the other game' i.e the game without Kasparov.
