PS It is my understanding that the expression of interest can me made and withdrawn before the selection takes place without any impact on future selection, but as I don't think the actual selection date is in the policy I don't think that works so well as a concept.

Michael only attended school for ONE day in the Upper 6th. He became a professional chess player in August at 16 after completing O Levels.
What amazes me is that, as far as I know, our leading players have not been consulted on what they think should be done.
Our huge success in the 1980s to 1990s was a statistical quirk which could not not be expected to be continued.
David Robertson's suggestion for a group to discuss the problems has merit as has Leonard's of a manager for elite development. Of course there is the problem that some would regard creating such posts as a problem sorted.
