Good spot, we will see

So now has the 7th highest live rating of all time, passing MVL, and only 0.6 behind Vishy in that list

Gawain has reached the time control and appears to have good winning chances (although queen and pawn endings always seem tricky to me)

He did indeed

So (7.5) v Wei Yi (7) tomorrow might be fun (or might be a quick draw for that matter)

Might have been more interesting with the colours reversed.....

Carlsen isn't going to win it this year, that looks fairly clear now.

Gawain didn't waste any time today destroying Dobrov in 28 moves.

Well I really thought Eljanov was holding that.

Makes for a really intriguing last round though.

Lu (7.5) - Gawain (8.5)
L'Ami - Ragger (8.5)
Xiong (8) - Bok
Hansen - Smirin (8)

Anyone know what the tiebreak is?

Excellent tournament for Gawain, hope he can finish it off

tie break rules are here: http://www.tatasteelchess.com/docs/TSCT ... engers.pdf
a. The mutual result
b. The Sonneborn-Berger score
c. The Player with more number of games with black
d. Drawing of lots

So Gawain definitely qualifies for the masters if he wins, but likely to be pipped if he draws.
