London Classic Grand Tour
It looks as if Nakamura has blown his chances in the first half hour with 13 Ne2?, and Wesley So is already nearly certain of winning the Grand Tour if he doesn't mishandle the big advantage he has been gifted.
How different from last year when first place was in doubt until deep in the playoff on the final evening.

Agree with that, Carl. Why on earth is it that size.

All I am doing today is saying thank you. But there's a good reason for that - people on the Forum are generally very helpful.

MVL-GIri first to finish after 24 moves and a threefold repetition.

Interesting Aronian-Adams game too where two knights are taking on two bishops.

Re: London Classic Grand Tour
Wrong result originally posted online in Aronian-Adams, saying draw in a position where White has mate in 6.
It's been corrected after a few minutes.
33...Ka8?? instead of 33...Ka7 alas. It's the sort of error we ordinary mortals make.
Presumably he didn't want Qxc5 to pin his N but the alternative was far worse.

Both Adams and Topalov start with 0/2. So starts with 2/2.

Goodness. At this rate we will all be over 2800 before we know it...Mick Norris wrote:And becomes the 12th player with a live rating of 2800+Christopher Kreuzer wrote:So starts with 2/2.
Hope he manages to hold on and get an official FIDE rating above that level. He certainly seems to have the Grand Tour first prize in the bag.
