What a game.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Fantastic performance, playing on increment since move 45!

Amazing effort and he had to win it as surely he would have had no energy left for a playoff.

I see it now. I missed that after 119...Ra8 120.Bc5 Kc6 121.Nd6 Rd8 pins the knight to the king! (And 121.Na5 fails to 121...Rxa5 of course). Seems White has to play 120.Bh6 and as you say the b-pawn drops after 120...Kc4.

Congrats to David - I need to go and calm down now. I can only imagine how he feels.

David also mentioned on social media yesterday that it was the first time he had been the oldest person in a tournament and the last round was the first time he had ever used three scoresheets for a game.

Only explanation - Arkell must have been coaching him.
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

He's been playing long games for years. I remember two successive 130+ move games in the World Junior in 2008. What's most impressive is the amount of moves in those games that he plays off just the increment.

Keith would have won a bit quicker than move 130
