Praggnanandhaa (who lost to a GM yesterday) is now trying to beat a fellow Indian (real veteran: born 2003) on board 33, with R+B v R, both playing on increment.
He possibly missed a clear win at move 75 (...Rf7) before it simplified to this
I wouldn't bet against Praggnanandhaa here but maybe his opponent has been well coached too.
If he wins he will be on the same score as Gawain (4.5) with the kid due White. Let's hope Gawain dodges that bullet.

Round 7 ChessBase report with Danny King videos including a game analysed by 13 year old Abdusattorov regarding his win against 11 year old Mital. I feel so old.

Gawain won today, it wasn't pretty and he really had to grind it out but who cares, he got the win.

After a great start this has been a tournament to forget for Gawain as he lost the final game to Xu after having a near decisive advantage earlier in the game.

Do you mean he should have played 22.e6 to get that decisive advantage? Doesn't look easy.

Agreed it isn't easy and I'm certainly not stating that Gawain had a win. I was thinking more 22 Qf3 (threatening Be4, and 22 h3 Nh6 23 Qxh5 possibly) and as castling is not an option Black's almost forced to play 22..Qc8 when 23 Bc4 looked nearly decisive, threatening all sorts of nasties, at least it's difficult to see how Black defends from there.

Looking at the final ranking table there was a proper blanket finish - only half a point separating the top 19. In fact only one point separating the top 35.
