2700chess.com are showing calculations with changes to the rapidplay ratings for the players. Presumably that part of the tournament is being rated? Or are all the games being rated?

Yes, I'd seen that, but a search of the FIDE ratings site for tournaments due for rating didn't seem to turn it up, so presumably not rated

Round 4 in Zurich has been under way for a while.

Nepo' seems to be beating Gelfand.

Oparin punts 6.h4 against Svidler's Najdorf. Love it!

Naroditsky also tried it in the US Championship against Zherebukh.

Oparin lost in the end. Svidler and Nakamura now share the lead on 7. Nepo, Anand and Kramnik on 6.
Last two rapid rounds tomorrow, then the blitz.

I thought they'd tried everything when they got round to 6 Nb3. Clearly.....

5 .. a6 doesn't establish any direct threats, just being a move to control the b5 square. White then has a free move, the underlying idea of 6. h4 being awaited.

Another two ghastly losses for Black in Open Sicilians featuring kingside pawn onslaughts. I know one of them was a Hedgehog, but I always think of those as Open Sicilians.
