How Carlsen won that ending against Ivanchuk was wizardry:

All Jobava has to do now, to prove he's truly worthy, is to win one of his remaining games, that's all.

In my case, a.)

Delay, which most of the Leuven participants are clearly unused to, has just made the blitz even more farcical than usual. Having a longer delay is unlikely to make a difference. GCT should scrap it and go back to increment next year.
In my case b).

There's an interesting comparison between Standard, Rapid and Blitz; and Test, One Day, and T20 cricket. I much prefer Test cricket to limited overs cricket, yet in chess I'm the other way around. I can offer no rational explanation for that.

Just because the players aren't used to delay isn't a good reason to scrap delay. I'm sure the same was said of quickplay finishes when they replaced adjournments, and increments when they replaced quickplay finishes.

From the result, further above, I see it's job done.

I missed the actual game (v. Kramnik) in which he won.

For me it has not all been just about 1st, 2nd & 3rd, but about how Jobava would fare in the lions' den - blooded, bloody and unbowed.
