For the first time since Judit Polgar, we have a girl who does not need to be compared with other young female players.

Yes she does look like the real deal, but still not on course for top 10. Could happen, not the way to bet.

Bodhana faces a 2188 in round 9. A draw will give her 4.5/9 against an average opponent of 2265 and therefore a WIM norm.

Despite the final round disappointment, I think Bodhana had the best tournament of the group.LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:13 pmThe final round ends with wins for Jovanka & Akshaya, a draw for Kata & losses for Lan Yao & Bodhana.

Yes, a WIM norm and WFM title in such a strong event for a nine year old is amazing.NickFaulks wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 10:23 amDespite the final round disappointment, I think Bodhana had the best tournament of the group.LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:13 pmThe final round ends with wins for Jovanka & Akshaya, a draw for Kata & losses for Lan Yao & Bodhana.

I was ignoring the fact that she is nine years old.LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 10:50 amYes, a WIM norm and WFM title in such a strong event for a nine year old is amazing.

Would I be right in thinking that the English participation in this event was financed or partly financed by the ECF out of the recent government grants?LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:13 pmThe final round ends with wins for Jovanka & Akshaya, a draw for Kata & losses for Lan Yao & Bodhana.

I assume the ECF accounts can answer that? Although, obviously I believe Lawrence!
