I note this is in Ipswich; I assume your three other qualifiers will be West, North and South. Can you give advanced advice on which would be the most local for a Birmingham-based player to attend?

Actually one is going to be in Midlands - Derby. That would be the best one! It should be on the 12th June

Oh that's OK; I was slightly fearful of you taking 2/12 of my potential county team for the 26th...

It's great to see the return of a national girls competition, but when will we know the dates and locations (personal interest: South)?Sabrina Chevannes wrote:... The other qualifiers will be announced in due course.

It will be up very shortly, once we have confirmed all the venues everywhere.
I will be updating all the news etc on my website: www.chevanneschessacademy.com which is currently being renovated so things will be up there once that has been finished. There will be a list of all the girls events and results.

Great news!
Glad to see this tournament brought back to life (and I hope the hassle and criticism sometimes directed at organisers doesn't get you down too much Sabrina!)
I just wanted to ask if you think 30 min time control might be a bit short?

Hi Andrew
Essentially this is a rapidplay championships. We hope to run a longplay one, but in order to fit 6 rounds in, we would need to hold them over two days and we have found it difficult and expensive to find venues for this. Next year we will be looking to revise the tournament.
