I am pleased to announce that the 1st English Women's Rapidplay was played today and was a great success. It was an extremely strong event and we had our strongest women out playing today so I am very proud that we have made this event happen.

Full report will follow soon, but prizes were awarded to:

3rd=
Dagne Ciuksyte (LITHUIANIA) 4/6
Zivile Sarakauskiene (LITHUANIA) 4/6
Alice Tissot (FRANCE) 4/6
Sue Maroroa (4NCL NACCPO) 4/6
Kanwal Bhatia (4NCL Barbican) 4/6

All receiving £20

Junior Prize (and 3=)
Anna Wang (Oxford High School) 4/6 £50

2nd place:
Meri Grigoryan (4NCL Guildford) 5/6 £120

1st place and title:
Jovanka Houska (4NCL Wood Green HK) 5.5/6 £200 and 2 trophies.

A Best Sport award was also awarded to Zoe Varney (Cumnor) who was the youngest competitor and lowest graded but did amazingly in the competition and showed wonderful sportsmanship throughout.

I would also like to thank Jovanka Houska who kindly donated half her prize money back to Women's Chess so that we can continue to run the event in the future.

Full report and pictures will follow

I know - absolutely amazing. We have had various other donations too, so it looks like we will be able to run the evnt next year plus provide fully funded coaching.
