Re: County duel brand
Greater Manchester enjoy a fight. They're the nearest you'll get to a duel brand

I'm not sure I understand the question ("branding"?) but provided you mean dual as in double rather than duel as in fight, there's the example of Herts and Cambs who have at various times entered county teams in both the EACU and SCCU competitions.John Reyes wrote:Just wonder which Counties have Duel branding in different Union of the ECF???

Manchester is not a county as listed by ECF under Counties. Appears to be decades of bitterness with County neighbour.

The Manchester Chess Federation is an amalgamation of the Manchester and District Chess Association & the Greater Manchester County Chess Association. It is a constituent unit of the Federation along with the London Chess League. Greater Manchester is a metropolitan county which was created in 1974.Nick Grey wrote:Manchester is not a county as listed by ECF under Counties. This is correct but I don't think that they have simultaneously entered the same competition via both Unions.Roger de Coverly wrote:I'm not sure I understand the question ("branding"?) but provided you mean dual as in double rather than duel as in fight, there's the example of Herts and Cambs who have at various times entered county teams in both the EACU and SCCU competitions.John Reyes wrote:Just wonder which Counties have Duel branding in different Union of the ECF???

Re: County duel brand
I have some recollection that for a period in the late 1980s / early 1990s Cambridgeshire entered the Open Division competition of both Unions.Neil Graham wrote:This is correct but I don't think that they have simultaneously entered the same competition via both Unions.Roger de Coverly wrote:I'm not sure I understand the question ("branding"?) but provided you mean dual as in double rather than duel as in fight, there's the example of Herts and Cambs who have at various times entered county teams in both the EACU and SCCU competitions.John Reyes wrote:Just wonder which Counties have Duel branding in different Union of the ECF???
