I'm no WP guru by any stretch of the imagination, but it really depends on the question.

I can definitely help if you are trying to display chess games on your WP site, definitely less so about convoluted WP admin questions.

Thanks for your reply. My query was in connection with plugin update issues.

I was receiving cURL error 28 messages when attempting to update certain plugins.

I found my own workround by deactivating all plugins prior to the update and the reactivating them. Not ideal but it worked.

According to this article, if you don’t like your current workaround, you can try improving by switching off individual plugins and figure out which one is the culprit; likely only one of them is causing the problem. Then you can keep using the workaround or flag the issue to the plug-in developer.
