Germany will have a big chance; they have the 2010 winner, and she's very popular in continental Europe.

I'll be wasting my free texts voting for Ukraine, naturally.

I don't think much of it last year, actually. But meh... I must begrudgedly accept she might win again.

Been going around YouTube looking for the songs. Ireland has Jedward... France has an opera singer!

Does anyone care given the dodgy quality of some of the songs and the even more dodgy voting?
Cheers

JedWood are 5/1 2nd favourites.... a true mockery for even the eurovision.

Not sure which bit you're whying about, so to cover both bases:

I don't know why the German lady is popular in Europe. I don't think she's that good...

I would vote for Ukraine because I'm a quarter Ukrainian, remember? My plan was foiled though: The UK don't get to vote in the Semi Final containing Ukraine. :(

Carl, they changed the voting system two years ago. Now the popular vote only counts 50% - a jury makes up the other 50%. You still get a bit of block voting, but it's not nearly as bad as it was. OK, you'll still get Serbia giving points to all the countries in former Yugoslavia, but there's not much you can do about that. Such is Eastern Europe that you end up with people born in one country, who've ended up living in another through politics. E.g. there are probably a sizeable number of Serbians living in Montenegro and vice versa.

What with all that heavy sht goin on all day between Scott Freeman and Paul Dupre it was a relief to grab a curry with Phil, meet up with Siobhan and Colin and share a few bottles of wine. Jools (Later) was on top form tonight, yes? Warpaint, Arctic Monkeys, Alison Krauss, Randy Newman, Brian Wilson and Gappy Ranks (never heard of him - though that doesn't say much! - fab)... just spent the last half hour listening to Warpaint vids on YouTube - absolutely cracking wenches altogether. Arctic Monkeys good, but very dark sound somehow compared to a group of women with real harmonies weaving around electric guitars. In love! (joking, nearly, no really!) Strewth some of the threads on this site could do with lightening up.

Well, I thought along similar lines to Keith, but when they performed on the night, France wasn't so great.
