In case you didn't know, Judgment Day will be upon us on 21 May.

Google 'May 21 2011' if you don't believe me.

Good luck with that Sean

I'd have thought Lancs v G Man that day in the U160 was more likely to end the world

Good point: definite sign of the End Times.

Probably worth bookmarking http://www.may-212011.com/ to see what it says on 22 May.

Oh dear. We are hosting four County matches at the Open University on May 21st, and I knew I’d overlook something. If the world ends during play we’ll just have to adjourn any unfinished games for completion on the ‘other side’.

Not an easy one, is it?

If the world ends, and you announce an adjournment, some opposing players might find themselves on opposite borders of "the other side". After the end of the world, security is bound to be tight, and there may be difficulties in one player leaving Heaven to go to Hell (or vice versa) to finish the game.

Even if it can be replayed, whoever loses will claim to have been distracted (after the game, of course) and will say that the game should have been sent for adjudication. Ater all, the Almighty could be on hand to adjudicate. But if the Almighty did adjudicate, there would be difficulties in finding someone stronger for the appeal. Also the Almighty would be annoyed that someone should challenge his verdict on the basis that the losing party turned on Rybka for five seconds and found that its instinctive assessment was a draw.

But whatever you do, don't announce on arrival at Heaven that the match has to be abandoned because of an Act of God. As I say, these will be tense times and the official line will very much be that the Devil caused the end of the world. You may be mistaken for a dissident, and not able to host any further chess matches.

Maybe this thread explains why Yorkshire are defaulting against Staffordshire on the 21st. I knew there was more to it than a clash with the Sheffield weekender

Has the National Controller announced where the county semi finals are going to be? I may have some sins to commit

The County Semi Final venues are agreed between the teams. There's no one fixed venue.

This is going to be a fiasco.

The dead are going to want back all the property and money
they left in their wills, the beneficiaries will protest.

The only winners will the lawers and how many of
them will make to Heaven?

God is going to be up to his neck in red tape for centuries.

Why are you complaining?
