"I've told you, Carlsen's not right in the head. He just doesn't listen, Jonathan! I grew up playing on uncovered boards. When Fred Trueman was sat opposite you waiting to move when I played at Yorkshire, all of a sudden you're not looking too clever! Now, I don't care who you are, you learn a lot more sat at the board than you do on ChessBa-Oh, he's played Knight-f3! My gran could've done better than that with a stick o' rhubarb! What rubbish!" (etc. for 5 days)

Congratulations, Hashim Amla. First South African triple centurion. England could do with some of the summer's earlier bad weather. 385 all out beginning to look utterly inadequate.

"It'll be a miracle if we save the game tommorrer." G. Boycott on radio telling it like it is, as usual.
Yesterday the commentary included -
Q. "What's the difference between a bag and a manbag?"
A. "About forty quid."

Classiest comment about the Oval Test:
Was Amla clean shaven when he started his innings?
