Not related to chess, but an article on a sportsperson from a different sport (tennis) serving in the Ukrainian forces:

War in Ukraine: tennis player Alexandr Dolgopolov on life as a soldier (BBC News)

Seems like a nice guy

Here he is celebrating the murder of a journalist, and threatening the lives of others...

Some "journalists" are worth more than others, and pro-Russia propagandists are near the bottom of the pack.

So it's OK to murder them?

To be fair, a lot of the worst atrocities that take place are driven by the "media", I'd definitely say there's a sizeable percentage of them who would not be missed - they would certainly think nothing of killing you if it means a few extra dollars in their pocket through the story.

Its a war and bad things happen. Maybe if Russia hadn't started all this......

So it seems you do think it's OK to murder an Egyptian journalist who published a story about alleged Ukrainian corruption because, "Its a war and bad things happen." That's true, bad things do happen in war to civilians, and that's also why they're called war crimes.

In light of this, who do you think the Ukrainians should murder in resonse to this article?

Where have I said it is "OK"? As opposed to pointing out it wouldn't have happened without a war *that Putin started*??

Anyone who doesn't accept the underlying premise that this is 100% a conflict of choice by Russia, will be off in their judgements subsequently.

I suppose you must have missed the NATO sponsored coup in 2014.

I have to admit you may have a bit of a point here, on reflection.

That is the most comical example of the blinkered falling for the scam I have read in 2023. "NATO sponsored coup". Wiping tears from my eyes here. Scores of Ukrainians died in Maidan for the ideal of democracy, liberalism, a rejection of corruption and cronyism and their choice of a future in the poltitical and economic structures that western Europe instituted for the sake of peace and co-operation in the wake of its bloodiest ever century of conflict. Those Ukrainians are willingly giving their blood in hundreds of thousands, saying as they do that their country has no choice. There will be no sovereign, nor independent Ukraine without this blood sacrifice, Putin having determined that Ukraine will die as an independent nation, culture and language, should his chosen right of might prevail. NATO? In 2014, it didn't just blink, it didn't give a shite. In 2022/3, NATO has woken reluctantly to Vova's frequently repeated declaration that Finland, the Baltic States, Poland and Europe as far west as Berlin are historical parts of the Russian Empire, and that Vova sees his historical mission as that of restoring Russia to its erstwhile territorial grandeur. Meanwhile the cackling halfwits of western fascism and tankieism join hands in praising Uncle Vova, on the one hand for his public rhetorical hatred of homosexuality and on the other hand because Russia's irredentism is apparently not a form of colonialism but its rejection. Clowns of the world, you have nothing to lose but your silly noses.
