This may or may not be related to the thread title, but I do believe our very own Paul McKeown stood for the Liberal Democrats yesterday in Hillingdon MBC.

He didn't do all that well, but fighting the good fight is what is important ;)

What are the Lib Dems about? The Tories with kid gloves on? Oops, sorry, that's Labour. Sod it, I haven't the foggiest. Admirable politician? Oxymoron -- and I say it matter-of-factly, not bitterly and not cynically. It's a politician's job to make false promises. to engage in euphemism and circumlocution, to betray swathes of his constituents. That's politics.
