Post by soheil_hooshdaran » Mon Oct 27, 2014 5:42 pm

Hi.
I am looking for ideas to design a nice cover for the book.
One idea can be
What is the most ancient chess game? And if possible, a picture is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I like the first best with the merging background colours on the centre spread.

Is it common that a text about a translator be written on the back cover?

Do you think the picture (a Roman gladiature) is appropriate?

The chances are he won't be Roman, most gladiators were slaves or prisoners of war.

Use the tried and trusted picture of chess piece so people can see at glance what it is about.

Does this forum get a mention for all the work we put in. :)

I wonder if you pronounce "Lopez" with /s/ as the end or /z/.

Hi sohei,

"Do you like other Iranians to come ask you questions?!"

No problem at all. Keep asking. The more the merrier. I was just having a little joke.

Hi Barry,

I know almost everyone says the Ruy Lopez pronouncing the 'Z'.

But is not the correct way to prounouce it. The Rou Lopeth.

How can white win from this position
and
How can white win in this position
?
