Hi.
I want to know the typical sale of a book/magazine in the UK,Having in mind the wide reach of the English language.

What kind of book? A chess book? Or the latest novel by Dan Brown?

He was making a joke by mixing together 64, the number of squares on a chessboard, with Fifty Shades of Grey, a popular erotic novel.

For a chess book, in the thousands. A serious monograph by Quality Chess -- maybe 2,000? For a book like Gillam's "Simple Checkmates," maybe 100,000 over a period of years?
