Well the mind-dumbing boredom of all this convinces me not to read the book...

Indeed.

Well, should the mood overtake you, you may read almost all of the first six chapters of our book here by clicking on the ´Look Inside´ link - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bad-Show-Cough ... aire+major

For what indeed could be more mind-dumbingly boring or less worthy of a book than a guy perfectly fairly winning a million quid on the world´s number one game show, his wife and he being charged and found guilty of cheating, the TV documentary broadcast within a fortnight of conviction getting a global airing and achieving record viewing figures in many countries, a consensus forming that he was as guilty as sin, plans to make a film about the whole laughably silly scam... and in fact his being quite innocent? :D

Eh ?  :?:

James - we aren't going to agree on this subject, and I don't think either of us has anything new to add, so I shall wish you all the best and leave it there.

Regards

Martin Benjamin

Without addressing my explanation of why the guy changed his mind at 32K, nor accepting the analysis of Europe´s leading authority on coughs, Professor Alyn Morice, that the tapes unquestionably show two people coughing.
Nor answering my other main point about the triviality of pulling this off just by using the simplest of codes...

NOR even - although you would have us regard yourself as someone who knows the subject of our book well enough to declaim authoritatively upon it - troubling yourself to actually READ THE BOOK.

So be it... :?

Señor Benjamin: here´s a review of our book (by someone who actually read it first) .

It contains some inaccuracies: we NEVER claimed Diana called four pagers on the eve of her husband´s taking the chair on the second evening.

Weaver does accept the accuracy of many of our criticisms but, nevertheless, concurs with your conviction re the correctness of the conviction.
That is until his final paragraph...

I must be careful what I say here.

Suffice to communicate that all of this, Martin, is far from over yet...

Oh dear.

To quote from the above review:

I think better had you quoted from the final paragraph, Sñr...

And who said it was us chasing after anything?

And if Señor Martin Benjamin regards the changing of direction on a high money question as indicative of cheating then he may check out David Edwards on his 125,000 Pounds question - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU_1p5InJrA

Messrs, Twitchell, Gunn and perhaps more particularly McReady, Farthing and Benjamin ALL welcome tonight at the opening performance of the play which has stemmed from our book!

If you´re happy to say that Biblical credence lends naught to our arguments and counter evidence, Sñr McReady and if you prefer to rely not on a 400+ page analysis by myself and the world´s number one name in the writing about and righting of cases where justice has miscarried - and who himself was sceptical until he read my 36 point essay for the defence - and prefer to go on the presentation of a Celador job where profiteering was their sole motivation (and Oh Boy did they cash in bigtime and globally!) then maybe seeing the matter portrayed before your eyes might better appeal, Sñr Benjamin (?) 8)

In answer to your :?:, I think the answer is not that we have a different viewpoint from you but simply that we are not interested. Being told that we should be is not going to change that :-(

Sorry about the (quite understandably misinterpreted) :?: Icon.
It´s just that I haven´t yet figured out how to delete posts... and, in the hope of locating the ´Delete´ button simply stuck something there!

If you´re not interested then fair enough.

But Benjamin did opine ...and without reading the book which this thread addresses.
Messrs Twitchell and Gunn have stated here that the book deeply influenced their view or even changed it.
T´would seem to inicate some interest there...
