Now you're pointing the finger at me, Michael.
But, I think it is alright since I used circular English and not classical Arabic or even Farsi.

Yes,and getting the guys to reply to my postsI haven't paid too much attention to this saga (and I may regret getting involved now), but I think it involves some or all of the following:
Translating a book into Farsi
Printing said book.
Publishing said book.
Selling said book.

Dear sir/madam...

Dear Mr Houshdaran,
I understand from Yasser Seirawan that you are interested in translating his series of books into Farsi.
I can certainly sell you the rights to the series, but before you begin any work we have to agree a fee and sign a contract. It is illegal for you to publish the books without my written permission. If you do you will be breaking the law.
Please correspond with myself on this matter, and not Yasser Seirawan.
Yours faithfully

I was playing at Playchess.com then and I knew GM Seirawan lectured there. So I asked for the email of GM Seirawan from chessbase staff:Who made the original approach to Everyman? Or did they approach you?
I emailed GM Seirawan and he said his editorial manager is the guy at the Everyman chess.(Dating March 24 2010)

40-50 doesn't look excessive in itself, unless they were about trivia or most of them were latterly.soheil_hooshdaran wrote: So?
Sadly, it was never signed. We reached a 10% financial term via email, but the contract was not updated with it, and when I asked that if it needs to be signed, he sends me a new updated contract, he refused to do so.Alistair Campbell wrote:40-50 doesn't look excessive in itself, unless they were about trivia or most of them were latterly.soheil_hooshdaran wrote: So?
I know next to nothing about publishing but 4-5 years seems like a long time to spend on a small project.
It seems that you have done something to incur the publisher's displeasure.
When was the contract signed?

Well, they advised me on a law forum to draw up a new contract. I nevertheless showed both the old and the new contract to a registered lawyer and he said they don't want to deceive you and the terms are common. I only made a few changes, especially with regards to payment, we agreed on a different term via email, and as I consulted to someone over the internet, Emails are substitutes for agreements, right?Alistair Campbell wrote:soheil_hooshdaran wrote:I was studying BS
It sounds as if Everyman got cold feet. I'm surprised that they didn't make it clear to you that the deal was off. Making up your own contract (unless you got a lawyer involved) doesn't sound like behaviour calculated to endear yourself to a publisher.
