re ´Copyright Infringement´ many UK Writers are infringing themselves by not getting their annual payments from these guys

http://www.alcs.co.uk/

The Authors Lending Copyright people pay out annually. Once sent me a cheque for about 112 Quid.

The fund exists because HM Gov argues that authors are entitled to royalties on copying their works. But since they cannot monitor who copies what nor where globally they just dish out a fixed sum.
Last year they paid me 67 Pounds.

Money for old rope plus, after the initial membership is subtracted from your payment for that year, it´s for life.

I suggest going to a court room. Lawyers frequent them.

Does this forum have a 'court room''?

If someone just rephrases the sentences a book or compiles from multiple books, is it copyright infringement?

"Iran’s messy, complicated, yet fascinating translation scene"

"translation is a passion career, with little to no financial reward and months spent waiting to obtain permission"

So much in that article feels... familiar!

That's why I want to follow the international copyright rules, although not enforced in Iran.
Unfortunately the reading culture is low among Iranians, especially regarding chess.

You said games in books are not copy-righted. What about positions (and their continuations) from books?

No, Not at all !
If your work sells good, it can earn easy big money.
My friend spent just 150 hours translating a work of Euwe, and it sold well, and he is under the impression that he spent a very long time, and this is when I send 150+ days just to edit my translation!

Positions are not copyrighted either; again, that a game reached a specific position is just a fact.

I mean hypothethical positions...

If it's a problem/study/other composed position, attribute it.
