MCCU Junior Chess

The recent AGM encouraged Dave Levens to spend the £500 allocated to this in the MCCU budget

Does anyone present have a view of what he was actually asked to use it for?

Venue hire, prize fund/trophies, his expenses in visiting MCCU counties to discuss how to develop Junior chess, developing an MCCU junior coaching system or a combination of these?

I suspect it's to do with expenses involved in coaching new coaches in other counties.

Wasn't this indicated in the minutes of the meeting?

Was the money 'spend it or lose it' in the budget?

Has it been spent?

In fairness, the meeting was only a few weeks ago. Minutes are at the draft stage, and it can't really have been spent in that time.

I don't recall it was "spend it or lose it". More "we've got the reserves, so let's spend it and see if it works".

Oh, I could certainly spend it in less time....

Are there any funds available for junior clubs in the MCCU area?

The AGM allocated a small amount of its budget to the Director of Junior Chess. I recommend you contact David Levens.
