Worcestershire have scored a hat trick in the opening county matches of the Season. On 8th October the under 140 team beat Shropshire 9½ to 6½. Then on 15th October the u120 team (current MCCU champions) beat Warwickshire ( current national champions ) by 6½ to 5½. Finally, again this Saturday, the Minor Open team beat Shropshire by 8½ to 7½. Congratulations to all who took part and lets hope we can keep up the good work.

But your team won for the first time in 2 years, and as their new board 1 you ought to take some of the credit

The key position for me on move 38. where I went 'Rc1' missing the fact that 'exf' is possible and rather short of time crashing out very quickly after that

Rather out of my depth to be brutally honest against a 205 not having played a serious level game in several years

Well, at least you bumped everyone else down a board?

Our board 16 was graded 149. I'm graded 149. So if you don't play, I'm probably one of the next on the list. You might be out of form, but you can't be that out of form that I'm seen as an improvement to the team, and selected instead of you!

The Worcestershire Minor Open team are playing Derbyshire tomorrow. Best of luck! I hope we can keep the Worcestershire bandwagon rolling.

Well, I'm not in the team, so we must all be 150+ again. :D

Result was 8-8 with Worcs snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat having been 3 points down at one stage. a fair result given the upsets on both sides.
