This argument is on the same level as the adjudication/adjournment debate. To modernize English Chess we have to scrap all adjournments and adjudications immediately.

We all talk of the decline in English Chess. Here are two solutions to part of the problem. We must stop even debating the above issues and just accept that they are going to happen. Why delay ?

Andrew

Tut-tut, Mr. Martin.
We are English => we know better than everyone else.
Simple really, isn't it?

"The current ECF board prior to their election expressed a desire to move to the Elo system within a few years subject to approval from ECF members." :D

The only problem with this is that the current board were not elected!

I don't know which "current board" this quotation refers to. I'd like to know who made this entry in Wikipedia.

Any guesses?

John, if you look at the history of the wiki page, you'll see that the sentence you quote was in the original version of the page and that version was dated 25 June 2007 and attributed to Chi Sigma. Presumably the "current ECF board" was the board in place at that time.

Angus,
Obviously I did parse the entire edit history and deduced the same as yourself.

I simply wanted to tease out who the contributors to the Wiki content were.

I remain curious. :)
