Does your own internal club championship matches count

Post by David Blower » Thu Feb 09, 2012 12:20 am

Just wondering as I have now played 4 chess matches in leagues, but 5 matches in my internal chess championship league.

Yes, but only if your club arranges to submit them to the ECF grading team through your local grader.

It counts if it's sent in for grading.

(It's eligible for standardplay grading provided the time allowed to reach move 60 is at least 1 hour for each player.)

It would be nice to have a number next to my name at the end of the season, as I am currently ungraded. Looking through my club championship rule book its 30 moves in 75 minutes, followed by a 15 minute blitz finish. I don't know if its being sent in for grading or not to be honest.

Your club secretary or internal tournament controller should be able to tell you.

Is a direct member permitted to submit their own games? I can't recall if this was one of the perks.

Obviously they would required validation.

So should Events Received for Grading 2011-12 in the ECF website’s Grading page. If the club’s results aren’t there, maybe they don’t know they can have their internal games graded. How to Get an Event Graded, also in the Grading page, might be helpful.

No.
