I am sorry to inform you that Alan Burnet has passed away after a long illness.
Alan was a long standing member of the Warley & Quinborne Chess Club.
He was well known for playing the Monte Carlo Variation against the French Defence.
Outside chess, Alan was a West Bromwich Albion fan and liked walking.
There is a tribute on the Warley & Quinborne Chess Club website dated Tuesday 4th April.
