David Dickson died peacefully in hospital last Thursday night.
David's many years of service to chess was recognised by the ECF a few years ago.
Others will be better able than me to write an obituary of David, but he has died in the year that the Wirral league which he founded celebrated their 50th Aniversary, although sadly he was unable to attend the celebration match which took place.
I will post funeral details on here when I have them.

Confirmation of Dave’s funeral arrangements on Friday 13 Feb,
12:15pm at Hope church,
1;30pm at Pentre Bychan (Wrexham) crematorium and then refreshments at the Red Lion public house Penyfordd.
