The Azerbaijani press is reporting the death of Vugar Gashimov after a long illness and mention his three operations in Germany to attempt to correct an epilepsy condition. Brief report (in Russian) at reference 1. of his Wikipedia article.
Gashimov was previously on the fringe of the elite tournament circuit and a three time national champion. RIP.
