Not a good morning for the norm chances. That leaves David needing 2/2 for a GM norm and Jonah 1/2 for an IM norm not really needed.

David has won so needs to beat Conor with black tomorrow.

I did follow some of the Dan-Jonah post mortem but don't think I've ever understood so little about what was going on. 3...g5 is a line that Jonah knew but they were both struggling to remember it so there was a fair amount of improvisation from both sides. Possibly the morning round where Dan had a quick draw and Jonah lost a long ending contributed to the way the afternoon game went.
